I graduated from Brigham Young University with a B.S. in Psychology and was just 2 classes shy of getting my minor in Family Development. After that, I attended Arizona State University where I completed my Master's program in Elementary Education with a 3.8 GPA. I taught for three years in Arizona and have tutored for the past five years.
Experience
Before moving to Florida, I taught first and second grade in Arizona. I love teaching and seeing my students grow. Tutoring has enabled me to help even more students from struggling readers to bored students by providing enrichment and extension activities. I have tutored for the past five years consecutively and did it off and on during middle and high school. I believe in designing creative tutoring sessions based around the student. I know each person is different and I honor each learning style. I design my lessons with the student and their learning style in mind so that I can help my students perform at their potential. I even have an at-home "classroom" full of my supplies and manipulatives from my old classroom so I am able to make tutoring fun and interactive. My students look forward to tutoring, even if they don't love school!
